Balance
Stacking is all about balance. Don’t over-accessorize! Stack one jewelry style while keeping your other accessories subtle. If you’re going to layer up on necklaces, try wearing simple understated stud earrings and a simple bangle or bracelet. Or, if you want to layer your bracelets, ditch the necklace altogether
Use Different Metals
Matching your metals is quickly fading out. Instead of trying to match gold with gold and silver with silver, try different mixes of rose and yellow gold with silver and white gold. Also, don’t be afraid to mix textures either! Go ahead and put an antique hammered gold cuff next to a polished white gold bangle. The more variation the better
Change Up Your Colors
You don’t have to match your stone or bead colors either. Instead of picking a single color, try contrasting colors, light and dark tones, or bright and faded tones. Try mixing deep blues with mellow yellows

Don't Stick to Just Metals
There are more things to put on your body than silver and gold! You can get pieces in leather, cord, polymer clay, wood, plastic, fabric, stone, and other precious metals. Variation is key when it comes to materials. Try all different kinds and see what you can come up with!
The key is diversity
So how do you start? Pick a jewelry style to stack and build out from there! Use these points as a checklist for each piece. If you’re stacking bracelets, start with a delicate silver bangle, then add a thick rose gold watch, a medium width tan braided leather band, a silver dainty chain with clay charms, and a petite beaded bracelet statement piece. Mix and match each category to see what kind of variation you can get!
